'Kollected - The Best Of' (or as it sometimes referred to, simply 'Kollected') was the first compilation album released by the band. It was released on 16th December 2002 in the UK and Europe and was given further releases around the world in 2003. Initial copies in the UK and mainland Europe came in a slipcase featuring a design identical to the album cover. In Japan, a limited special edition was released, comprising the album and a bonus DVD featuring 7 of the band's promo videos (of the 10 videos existing up to that point, Sound Of Drums and the US versions of Hush and Tattva were omitted). The decision to release an album came from the record company, but Crispian got involved to choose a tracklisting, approve the sleevenotes and the package as a whole. Additionally extra sleevenotes written by Crispian himself were included in the Japanese release. The album included one previously unreleased track, a cover of Bob Dylan's 'Ballad Of A Thin Man', as well as a clip of a further previously unreleased track, which appears as a 90-second hidden track.
